JonasI'm a tutor who has helped students excel in literature, improve their scores in English and verbal sections of standardized exams, and develop language learning skills. I'm originally from Sweden, but I studied in England and worked as an editor there as well. I now live in Wisconsin. Throughout my travels, I've had the opportunity to tutor and teach everything from literacy to literature. I love these subjects, and I want to help students learn to love them as well. As for languages, I can help students learn German and Latin. When I have free time, I enjoy hanging out with my wife, playing chess, and bird watching. I also like to read.

AnnaI'm pursuing a music performance degree from UW - Madison, and I play the flute. I tutored math in high school as a junior and senior, and I loved it. I love teaching, and I like to find different ways to try to explain things to students until they are able to understand it. I also very motivated about teaching a subject. I believe that developing a real understanding of the subject as opposed to the ability to regurgitate information helps students find real success. If students are able to fully understand the topic, rote memorization is usually not needed. Also, when a student has a full understanding of the topic, they are able to think critically to solve new and complex problems competently. As a tutor, my goal is to help students develop this ability.

AhmadouI earned my undergraduate degree in human development and family studies from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. I was born and raised in Senegal and speak French fluently. Learning and teaching languages is a passion of mine and I have been tutoring French for several years to students of all ages. Being multilingual has afforded me many opportunities and given me the opportunity to make friends from around the world more easily. I believe gaining fluency in a new language should be an aspiration for all students and I thoroughly enjoy being a part of that journey. I currently tutor French 1, French 2, French 3, French 4, and conversational French. One of the benefits of working with a native speaker of the language is the ability to learn the nuances of a language more fully. I work with my students to make the process of language acquisition a fun and engaging experience. I take the time to get to know each pupil so that I am able to better gauge their current linguistic level and offer them unique lessons tailored to their interests, level, and learning style. I believe a good tutor works to motivate and inspire their students and this is my goal with every session.
