McKenzieI transferred to the University of Pittsburgh from the Community College of Allegheny County to earn a bachelor's degree in statistics. I love to learn, and I'm working as a computer programmer today, a skill I taught myself. I enjoy sharing my love of learning with students to help them find success in the subjects I tutor. My first tutoring experience was helping three failing honors chemistry students turn their grades around by helping them understand the material. That experience was so gratifying that I have continued to tutor ever since. I love to help students who want to learn find success. I am looking forward to helping new students in subjects like algebra, calculus, business, applied math, statistics, chemistry, economics, computer science, physics, pre-calculus, and more. In my free time, I enjoy programming for fun, woodworking, riding my bike, and gardening.

JohnI have an AA in Music from Onondaga Community College, and I completed both an undergraduate degree in Special Education and a graduate degree in Education at the State University of New York, Plattsburgh. I went on to teach Special Ed at a school district in northern NY, but I am retired now from the classroom. I have done everything from teaching elementary students to working at a penitentiary helping inmates prepare to take the GED. I've also taught music and piano lessons for many years. I am a very experienced, patient instructor who treats each pupil as a respected individual. Whether you are looking for help for yourself or your child, I believe we can work together to meet your scholastic goals. I am comfortable working with students from early elementary age to adult learners, and with people from a variety of backgrounds. I look forward to talking with you about Reading, Writing, English, Special Education, GED, Test Prep, Phonics, Elementary Math, Math, ISEE- Lower Level, SSAT- Elementary Level, ISEE, SSAT, Elementary School Math, High School English, or College English. CaseyAs a tutor, I set my standards high while remaining patient and understanding. By the end of the school year, they realize they can and have achieved their goals through sheer hard work and determination. I believe that a solid conceptual foundation is imperative to future academic success. Each student has a unique learning style and learn best through different teaching styles. I can adjust my explanations and strategies to account for these needs. By providing engaging, relevant, and creative learning methods that suit the student's learning needs, I can support a student in achieving their full potential. Rather than focusing on passing the next test, I work to help my student's master the subject in full. By completely understanding the topic, they can continue to succeed in more advanced areas. While tutoring, I continuously assess how well the student understands the material we are reviewing, ready to make changes as needed. I maintain flexibility in my scheduling to allow for open communication between myself and my students. I have many interests that occupy my free time. I love to attend sporting events, particularly football and basketball, in the Pittsburgh area. My family and I enjoy traveling together, trying new foods and experiencing new things.
