JakeAs a tutor, I am motivated to help students realize their full potential as students. Sometimes when students are struggling, all it takes is some guidance and motivation to move forward successfully. I am patient and supportive, and I modify my approach to match the needs of each individual student I work with. I'm very enthusiastic about science and math, and I want to share what I know about those subjects as well as test preparation for the GRE and GMAT. In my free time, I enjoy computers, sailing, games, and travel.

ElizabethI'm a tutor who is based out of Syracuse, New York, where I enjoy hiking, swimming, and listening to music when I'm not in the classroom working with students. I have my bachelor's degree in biology from Vassar College along with a concentration in math. As a tutor, I'm able to help my students in a variety of subject areas. Some of the lessons I've taught in the past have been in algebra, science, and standardized test preparation, amongst other things. After graduating, I began pursuing my doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. I consider myself to be a lifelong learner, and enjoy instilling a similar passion for knowledge in my students. There's nothing quite like the feeling I get when a student of mine finally has a breakthrough moment in a subject they've been struggling with for awhile. I know that every student learns differently, and so I make sure to vary my teaching approach to fit the needs of the student I'm working with. My lessons are tailored to each student's specific weaknesses, in order to ensure that the student will get the most possible out of our time together.

DianaI believe every student learns in their own unique way, but every student is capable of learning. It's up to me as a tutor to identify how each student learns and then teach to them based on their individual learning style. It's also my job to make sure the learning is enjoyable and engaging, and that concepts discussed are easy for students to understand. I have 25 years of professional experience as a trainer and business consultant for multicultural and multilingual businesses. I've also had the opportunity to tutor students in Chinese and ESL at the college level, public school level, and privately, and I have worked with immigrants as well. I went to East China Normal University to earn my bachelor's degree in languages and literature education. I then went on to the State University of New York - Albany to earn my master's degree in TESOL. I also attended Syracuse University for my MBA in international business, marketing, and global entrepreneurship. I love to help bridge the gap between the East and the West through helping people learn languages and cultures. When I have free time, I like to play the cello and guitar, write, read, practice photography, study languages, exercise, play with my dog, listen to music, and travel.
