ElizabethI am an experienced math teacher with a track record of helping students develop the confidence they need to succeed. Some of my students have told me that my course was the best one that they have ever taken. My secret is simple: relate seemingly abstract ideas and concepts into real life situations. For example, I published a problem called "Telephones and Algebra" in Mathematics Teacher that demonstrated how to use algebra to get the best possible deal on a cell phone. I developed the problem as part of my own research, and have since shared it to help students realize what a knowledge of mathematics can do for them. I am comfortable teaching mathematics at all levels, including AP Statistics, Multivariable Calculus, SAT Math, Algebra II, and Middle School Math. I hold a B.A., M.A., and Ph.D in mathematics because my teachers showed me how beautiful, compassionate, and even humorous it can be, and I strive to share that same passion with every student I work with.
