I have eight years of experience in education, and my tutoring specialties are history, creative writing, and Spanish. I speak Spanish fluently as a Cuban-American, so I understand Spanish academically and practically. I've been published for my writing work in Spanish and in English. I thoroughly enjoy helping students find their voice to communicate effectively. I focus on results with my students, and I leverage my experience and knowledge to help students succeed. When I work with students, I identify where their strengths are and figure out their needs. That helps students work through any learning obstacles. My ultimate goal is to teach students how to learn effectively. In my free time, I like to hike and write. I also enjoy art and music.Education

I attended Bob Jones University and earned my Bachelor's in Biology and am now about to attend medical school. I believe my extensive history volunteering for many different organizations in my home community of Indianapolis. A lot of my volunteer work included working with people of all ages and assisting in classrooms. I am most passionate about tutoring writing and science, however, I can help in many other areas, including music, math, grammar, and more. As a tutor, I take the time to get to know my students one-on-one, so I can figure out their personal strengths, learning styles, needs, and weaknesses. Once I know all of this, I create a custom made lesson plan that is designed to help your child succeed. When I am tutoring, I don't just want my pupils to understand the information at the surface level, I want them to have fun learning. My hope in doing this is to make them lifelong learners. When I am not tutoring, you can find me reading, playing piano, and playing volleyball. Additionally, I help in the children's music program at my church. I am looking forward to helping your child reach their academic goals.Education

I went to Bowdoin College for my bachelor's degree in Africana studies. I also earned the minor in French. I then had the opportunity to work at Fay School, where I was an admissions officer, teacher of ESL, French, and ethics and wellness, coach of the track and field and basketball teams, and a dorm parent. I then went on to Columbia University to earn my master's degree in education policy. I love the education field, and I love working with people have a desire to learn. I believe activities and practice are the best ways to help students learn successfully, along with encouraging students to take charge of their own success. I enjoy tutoring students in French, mathematics, and English as a second language. I'm originally from Senegal, and I enjoy choreographing and dancing in West African styles.Education
