MatthewI worked in IT for many years after graduating from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a bachelor's in Mathematics and Computer Science, giving me a firm grasp of many topics covered in science and math. Most of my tutoring experience comes from helping middle schoolers in Chicago get into selective enrollment high schools, but I also helped my own sons with their high school courses. I have an easy-going tutoring style with an emphasis on real-world examples and simple analogies that makes abstract concepts easier for students to understand. I have several hobbies outside of tutoring, including playing some video games on the Playstation 4. I find that this helps me connect with my students, who often share a similar hobby.

AlexandraI am currently attending Northeastern Illinois University and I am pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemistry with a minor in biology. I have over two years of experience tutoring students who are enrolled in chemistry classes. While I have experience tutoring Russian and math, I am the most passionate about tutoring students in chemistry. Science classes can be intimidating and challenging. In fact, some of the classes are designed to challenge students to the point of dropping out of the sciences. As such, it is my goal as a tutor to help students find success in the sciences by providing an engaging and comfortable learning environment. Outside of science, I enjoy cinematography, literature, music, and art.
