LelaI'm currently a college student studying elementary education. I'm also seeking a special education minor. I enjoy working with children, and I've had the opportunity to be a college mentor for kids and to teach children swimming lessons. I'm also in the college show choir, and I really enjoy helping students learn to sing. I believe all students can learn, and I want to help them figure out how they learn best so they can achieve success. I also emphasize full understanding of concepts opposed to just memorization. I can tutor elementary and middle school math and science, reading, writing, English, literature, chemistry, study skills and organization, history, essays, government, voice, religion, and test preparation. When I have free time, I enjoy exercising, rowing, swimming, riding horses, fashion, and singing.

LauraI'm a German tutor who is based in Indianapolis, Indiana. I have my bachelor's degree from the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany and my master's degree in language studies / teaching English as a second language from Indiana State University. I'm currently teaching at Indiana State University part-time, where I instruct German and English as a second language courses. I teach all levels of the German language as well as some English as a second language writing courses. As a teacher of foreign languages, my goal with new students is to always first get them excited about the possibilities of learning and using a new language. That's why I try to instill the fun part of learning German in all of my beginning level students. I spent a lot of time growing up living in the French-speaking portion of Switzerland, so I know some French and some Spanish as well. I love learning new languages, and I'm always searching for ways to improve my language skills. I believe that everyone can learn a foreign language with the right guidance. Outside of the classroom I love to travel, discover new music, read books, and play sports. I hope I can use what I've spent my life developing to help you truly master your first (or second) foreign language.

AlyssaI am currently pursuing my undergraduate degree in biology with a minor in gender studies at Indiana University. I know from personal experience just how important it is to find a study style that suits you in order to find academic success. I believe it is extremely important to get to know each student in order to discover their learning style, their personal and academic goals, and what they feel is the biggest obstacle standing between them and achieving those goals. Then we can work together to build a plan to work towards those goals. When students see their next test, essay, or assignment as something bigger it can be easier to remain dedicated to the pursuit of excellence. I currently tutor a variety of subjects, including algebra 1, pre-algebra, geometry, middle school math, writing, math, English, literature, Spanish 1, languages, high school English, college English, and comparative literature. I also help students who are preparing for upcoming exams such as the SSAT, ISEE, and HSPT. Regardless of the subject area a student is struggling with, I believe there is a way to help them make progress and gain a greater level of understanding. It may take time and some experimentation to find out what method works best for them as individuals, but with patience I believe it can be done.
