KatlinMy teaching style is inspired by my love of all things nerdy. I am and always have been fascinated by superheroes. My favorite characteristic of a superhero isn't the traditional answer of strength, it is their ability to expand the limits of knowledge. I let my nerdy habits influence my teaching skills and it gets good results! I use pop culture references when I need to motivate or explain how a concept relates to the real world. I also try to use the method of prompting my pupils, then offering them a framework for their solution. I then have them figure out different ways the goal can be made. I don't expect my students to be perfect or have a perfect session, I just expect them to put in hard work. As far as subjects, I can help with essay writing and composition, English and literature, sociology, and more. My favorite things to research include pop culture, social movements, and rhetorical messages. For over three years, I have been teaching public speaking classes at the college level. This experience has helped me realize the many different ways students engage in and learn the material. I look forward to helping you or your student learn in more than just the traditional setting.

CorbinI love math. I'm currently pursuing in applied mathematics degree from UN - Reno. My minor is computer science. I'm interested in artificial intelligence and would like to pursue it as a career. My tutoring experience includes training students from 9 to 19 and advanced math subjects. As a tutor, I believe I am able to explain complex topics in a way that students new to the discipline can understand. I enjoy watching math videos online to see how people present topics, and I often use these in my sessions. Math is a challenging topic, but it's also enjoyable to tackle these challenges for me. I've been lucky enough throughout my academic experience to have teachers who helped me love math the way they did. My goal in tutoring is to help others realize how powerful, valuable, and enjoyable it can be to learn new math topics. When I have free time I like to skateboard, listen to music, and play video games, particularly Super Smash Brothers.
