ZachI attended the University of Maryland - Baltimore County for my bachelor's degree in biochemistry. I then went on to the University of Pittsburgh to earn my doctorate in chemistry. In graduate school, I had the opportunity to teach a lab in organic chemistry. As part of this, I was able to lecture and to work individually with students who struggled in the course. I enjoy working with students are having difficulty learning chemistry, and I've developed a methodology that has helped many students improve their understanding. I asked a lot of questions during sessions to figure out where students are making progress and where they still need help. I then have students teach concepts back to me, which is the best way for students to show that they have learned something. When I have free time, I enjoy playing drums and learning foreign languages.

RiccardoI graduated from the University of Florence with a bachelor's in social work 13 years ago. I promptly began teaching special education. I tutor students in Italian, which I am a native speaker of. I work with them to impart an understanding of the language, culture, and history. I can help students as they learn conversational Spanish and Italian, as well as the introductory, intermediate, and advanced courses. Not only have I taught these, along with English, in India, I also worked in Thailand offering scuba diving classes in the three languages. I spent a period working as an interpreter and translator for legal firms, corporations, and conferences. I improved my Spanish fluency while traveling through Latin America and Mexico. Currently, I live in Pittsburgh and intend to continue teaching students here. My teaching style as a language instructor combines immersion with personalized lesson plans. Working with students allows me to keep my language skills fresh while offering the unique pleasure of seeing others succeed in learning. I strive to make lessons fun while factoring in the student's personal goals. Outside of teaching, I am deeply passionate about travel, prompting me to regularly research other cultures. I also enjoy listening to music.
