TammiI am a chiropractor by trade, but I love helping young students learn. I attended Edgewood College and then Palmer College of Chiropractic to get where I am today. I'm driven by the goals of my students, and I modify my approach to match the learning style of each student that I work with. Every student learns in their own way, so I figure out how my students will learn most effectively and then I use that approach in our sessions. I want my students to have fun learning and develop confidence. I can tutor algebra, elementary and middle school math, anatomy, biology, biochemistry, microbiology, reading, and test preparation. When I have some free time, I like to read, run, and play soccer.

JessicaI earned my BA in English Education from Purdue University. I went on to be an English teacher, which was a great fit for me because of my love for reading and discussing literature. I have experience teaching English to middle school and high school students. Through my years teaching, I developed teaching skills that allow me to successfully teach students in reading, vocabulary, writing, and grammar. I've worked with students of varying abilities, and in my opinion, searching for knowledge is better than any other adventure we pursue in our lives. I believe in working study skills and basic organization skills into tutoring sessions, as these will benefit my students far beyond our time together. As for me, I continue to learn every day, and feel it has improved my life enormously. I get great satisfaction when my students reach their light bulb moment, grasping something they had thought was beyond them. I share in the pride and excitement they feel, and appreciate this as the time they start to really become engaged in their learning efforts. I take the time to get to know my students and their interests and abilities, so I can provide personalized lessons that work best for them.

GrantAs a student, I performed well on the SAT, and that open up opportunities for me for higher education. I was able to get financial aid and to gain admission to Texas Christian University, where earned my bachelor's degree in biochemistry. When I work with students, I'm determined to help them reach their goals. This could be preparing for certain sections on the exam like the SAT, PSAT, or something else, seeking help in AP courses, or just trying to understand a subject like algebra, biology, economics, chemistry, physics, macroeconomics, literature, history, microeconomics, or Spanish. Whatever a student needs, I'm willing to put in the effort to help them succeed.
