I have a bachelor's degree in English literature from Alfred University in Western New York. Upon graduation, I lived in Lake Tahoe, where I earned a master's degree in TESOL/English education from Temple University. From there, I taught eighth-grade social studies and English, and then I moved to New Jersey where I taught kindergarten through fifth grade ESL students. I later earned another master's degree, this one in educational leadership. I have been a teacher for over twenty-three years, working with students of all grade levels of elementary school. I can help with many subjects such as science, phonics, math, writing, test prep, ESL, and others. I enjoy practicing yoga and traveling.Education

I am a professional 5th grade teacher with four years of experience teaching math, social studies, science, and reading. My favorite subject to teach is math because of the complexity and exploration the subject offers. I'm great at quickly determining a student's academic strengths and weaknesses, allowing me to build a customized program to help them work toward their academic goals. Whether your child needs extra practice problems, more difficult material to keep them engaged, or a refresher course on the fundamentals, I can help! I went into teaching because teachers played a big role in my childhood. I grew up learning Japanese and English at the same time, giving me a language barrier that many of my peers didn't have. My teachers didn't give up on me though, and eventually I was performing as well as everybody else. Outside of academics, my hobbies include skiing, exercising, traveling, volunteering, dancing, and trying exotic foods.Education
