Si YoungI earned my bachelor's degree in Polymer Science and Engineering, with a Biomaterials track, from Case Western Reserve University. I've always felt a strong affinity with math, chemistry, and biology. These are the subjects I'm available to tutor students in. I have great patience, and believe that is helpful as a tutor, because when students don't feel pressured, they tend to perform better and experience less stress. I have had tutoring experience, and one thing it has taught me is that, while I adjust my teaching style to fit the student's needs, practicing and reviewing problems step-by-step is a good way to help students understand the fundamentals of the problem, and helps them remain engaged in the puzzle-solving aspect.

MariaHi! I'm a freshman at the University of Chicago with a passion for learning that I love to share with others. I'm a really outgoing person, so I love encouraging my students to ask questions during sessions. If I don't know the answer offhand, I'm more than okay with doing a little independent research to find it out. I feel that this willingness to learn alongside my students helps me spread my passion for education. Being fresh out of high school, I'm also intimately familiar with test prep and the college application process. I remember how it feels to think that your entire future depends on the application essay you write or your SAT score, helping me design sessions that high school students can relate to.

KristenAfter high school, I attended the SUNY College at Oswego, where I earned my bachelor's degree in teaching English as a second language (or ESL) and in linguistics. I went on to study at the New Paltz SUNY college campus, where I earned my master's degree in literacy. I am now certified to teach a number of ESOL, literacy, and English/ language arts subjects. I'm very enthusiastic about learning and about the English language. I enjoy helping students learn the language, and use it to express themselves in a variety of ways. I modify my tutoring methods to fit each individual student I tutor. in my free time, I enjoy reading, kayaking, and traveling.
