I'm a tutor who is based out of New York City, where I enjoy playing sports and going to the gym when I'm not working with students. As a tutor, I'm able to provide lessons in a wide variety of math topics such as trigonometry, multivariable calculus, and college algebra. I'm a recent graduate with a degree in math. I got interested in becoming a tutor when my older brother was taking a calculus class and struggling. Not knowing what to do, my brother turned to me for help. I wasn't sure how I would handle working with him, but I knew I wanted to help. I realized when I started working with him that I was able to help him out, and I got such a great feeling from helping him succeed in his class. Because of that interaction with my brother, I fell in love with the process of tutoring. Now, I've discovered that I absolutely love helping others learn subjects that they are struggling with. There's nothing quite like the feeling I get when a student I'm working with is finally able to grasp something that they've never understood before. I hope I can use the passion I have for math and teaching to help you reach all of your math-related goals.Education

As a lifelong learner, I believe that learning continues outside the classroom and education can happen anywhere. I have almost twenty years of experience working with a variety of students and subjects. Over the years, I have worked with students in many situations and of many ages, including at-risk youth, juvenile offenders, English language learners, elementary students, and summer school students. In all the situations, I was able to help the students to achieve success in their learning. In addition, I had the privilege of spending one year volunteering with AmeriCorps as a literacy tutor and a co-manager of their homework center that provided after school help. I focus on tutoring a variety of topics within the subjects of language arts, public speaking, study skills, and social studies. I earned a Political Science and Government Bachelor of Science, with minors in French and Philosophy from Santa Clara University. I also earned a Juris Doctorate and passed the bar exam in New York. I worked in litigation before relocating and focusing my work on the nonprofit sector. During my free time, I enjoy art, cooking, dancing, gardening, reading, and traveling. I also like to spend time with my pets and relaxing with yoga.Education

I have found that the best way to teach is to focus on each student's individual needs because every student learns in a different way. I make a personal commitment to each student to discover the best method for teaching them and helping them to learn the material. I believe that this individual approach creates the most effective learning session possible. I am a recent graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Law where I earned my JD. I completed my BA at Florida Southern College in Political Science. I have also spent several summers in England as part of a study abroad program. Although I tutor many subjects, I find law, history, political science, and government especially interesting. I also enjoy helping students prepare for the LSAT. I am adjusting to life and having free time in life after completing a very time-consuming degree. I'm learning how to relax with reading for personal enjoyment and giving back with volunteer work.Education
