TiffanyI went to Duke University, earning my bachelor's degree in English and completing the elementary education program. I have a lot of experience in teaching, most of which has been spent teaching kindergarten, first grade, and second-grade. I enjoy teaching introductory elementary reading. It's rewarding to show young students about classic literature. Developing strong reading abilities is essential for the success of students in all other subjects. As a tutor, I provide engaging and fun lessons and use hands-on activities to learn. My goal is to help students develop a better understanding of the topic we study, and to provide them life skills and character skills. I want students to be inspired to become lifelong learners, and I want to help them develop the critical thinking skills they need to succeed in their academic and professional careers, as well as their life. I can tutor students in English, writing, study skills, math, comparative literature, special education, essay writing, and more. I can also help students prepare for tests. In my free time, I like to work out, be outside, and spend time with my dogs.

ShawnI first realized that I loved teaching back when I was a high school student and I began tutoring a friend of mine in Latin. I discovered that I really enjoyed sharing my knowledge and working one on one with students. When I was an undergraduate student, I worked in the university's tutoring office. During graduate school, I discovered I had more of a passion for teaching others than for doing research. Ever since then, I have chosen to be involved in teaching and education. I have tutored students, worked at ITT Technical Institute as a math tutor, and served as a substitute teacher. I love tutoring Ancient Greek and Latin and have also discovered that I am comfortable and confident in my math skills. When I tutor, I remember my own struggles when learning new concepts, and I try to draw from those challenges so that I can relate to my students and the struggles they are going through themselves. I will work with my students with happiness and patience so that together we can solve any problem they might have. I enjoy seeing my students reach success and I can not wait to help them achieve their academic goals.

CynthiaI'm Cynthia, and I have a decade of experience as a tutor. During that time, I've helped students across all age groups and levels of ability, including teaching English as a second language to professionals and helping elementary school students understand science. Some subjects I enjoy tutoring include psychology, literature, ESL, grammar, reading comprehension, and industrial engineering. I also enjoy helping students prepare for exams. I love helping people reach their goals.
