WillemI went to Appalachian State University to earn my bachelor's degree in political science, and I'm now attending American University for my graduate degree in public administration and international management. I have a broad academic background, so I'm looking forward to tutoring students in public speaking, English, algebra, American history, government, politics, European history, pre-algebra, and elementary and middle school foundational math topics. I believe every student can learn any subject as long as they are willing to put in the effort. I will put in the same hard work is my students to ensure that they develop a full understanding of any subject we study. When I have free time, I like to run, swim, and play video games.

VincentI received my undergraduate degree in sociology and psychology and my graduate degree in leadership. I continued my education to also receive a doctorate specializing in student affairs administration. I've developed my expertise in teaching by working with adult-learners and also non-traditional students who are preparing for career and college. I have also had extensive experience working with those who are interested in professional and personal development. The courses that I currently tutor include technology and computer science, writing, high school and college business, English, microeconomics, economics, psychology, executive functioning, public speaking, macroeconomics, social sciences, social studies, business statistics, human resources, international business, sociology, anthropology, persuasive writing, and technical writing. Additionally, I tutor a wide variety of IB courses in similar fields. After working for many years in China while working on my dissertation, I had the opportunity to study both Chinese and Japanese language and culture. This created a love of working with those who are developing their own language skills, and I also enjoy teaching ESL/ELL students who are working to achieve mastery in a new language. Regardless of the subject we are covering, I take the time to get to know each of my students individually so I am better able to prepare unique lessons for their specific needs.

CathyEducation, whether as a teacher, learner, or facilitator, defines who I am. I've worked for 20 years in education, and I have been able to gain extensive experience during this time in effective teaching and learning methods. I have taught, coached, tutored, created learning materials and tests, administered exams, and performed assessments. Learning is ultimately the responsibility of the student, but I can share my techniques, resources, and support and encouragement to help students achieve success. I can tutor students in algebra, elementary and middle school level math, finite math, English, grammar, writing, essays, ACT test prep, and others.
