UmairI am currently earning my bachelor's degree in applied mathematics and statistics with a focus on pre-med courses at Stony Brook University. I have experience tutoring students of all ages between thirteen and twenty-three. My professional experience includes tutoring calculus through the learning center on campus. I am available to tutor in calculus, algebra, math, science, physics, and organic chemistry. Working with people is something I am passionate about because I love learning, and I learn something from each session with my students. My tutoring style includes approaching information from different angles, so I am great at finding the right teaching method for each student. In my free time, I like hanging out with friends and playing football and basketball.

SamuelUpon graduation from high school, I came here to Oberlin College where I am currently pursuing my bachelor's degree in history. My experiences as someone who was tutored were not the best. I was generally presented with lists of terms or facts to be memorized and then drilled on them. Because of this, I decided to start tutoring once I got to college, and I have found that it is much more effective the way I work with my students. We dig into the subjects we are studying, mostly English and history/ social science subjects, and I guide them to ask and find the answers for the kinds of questions that give them a true understanding of the concepts.
