TimothyI have an undergraduate and graduate degree in mechanical engineering, and I currently work in the field using many concepts I learned in school in real world applications as part of my duties. I also tutor part-time, helping students at the high school and college level with math. I enjoy using my own work experience to help students understand how math concepts are important and how they're used in real life. I also understand that every student learns differently, so I customize my approach to match my student and exhibit patience, going at the student's pace and persevering until we find the methods that works best for them. It's very rewarding to help students develop their learning skills to the point where they can solve problems correctly independently. In my free time, I like to play the piano, read, play board games, and travel. I also enjoy basketball.

KierstenI believe every student deserves the opportunity to experience success, regardless of pace or learning style. As a tutor, it's my responsibility to identify your learning style and help you build up skills that take advantage of that so you can learn independently. I also like to make sessions interesting and fun to keep students engaged. The subjects we learn are all interesting, so let's find what interesting in every subject and have a good time learning. I can tutor algebra, French, writing, essays, literature, English grammar, special education, public speaking, pre-algebra, and more. In my free time, I enjoy music, theater, sports, and fitness.

KateI'm a tutor who enjoys reading, playing with my dogs, and spending time with friends when I'm not working with students. I have my bachelor's degree in psychology from Franklin and Marshall College. I'm also a certified special education teacher, behavior therapist, and my Master of Education from Vanderbilt. I consider myself to be a lifelong learner. I have an upbeat personality, and am extremely passionate about working with children. This, along with my strong organizational skills, makes me an excellent tutor. I believe in working with students on an individualized basis. In doing this, I provide them with targeted lesson plans that focus on identifying their weaknesses and then building skill upon skill to help the student reach their academic goals. With my background in psychology and special education, I am easily able to differentiate instruction strategies and decrease learning anxieties in my students. I strive for each of my students to leave our sessions feeling more confident in their own academic abilities. My overall goal is to help students reach their academic goals.
