KevinLearning new things can be difficult, but I can provide the creative and fresh approach to keep students engaged and motivated to achieve success. I began tutoring when I served in the Marines. I assisted fellow troops with life skills and practical topics, including everything from how hydraulics work to personal-finance. Once my service was over, I was determined to help veterans create great college application essays and procure the benefits of the G.I. Bills. I then went to DePaul University, where I earned my bachelor's degree in public relations and my master's degree as well. I enjoy working with students who want to learn and improve themselves, and I respect that by customizing a lesson plan focused on the student and providing various modes of education. I'm excited to help students learn algebra, nutrition, geometry, physical science, elementary math, middle school math, pre-algebra, public speaking, biology, religions, chemistry, discrete math, writing, English grammar and syntax, history, finite math, geography, and test preparation. When I have free time, I enjoy oil painting, playing the guitar, and singing.

JanelleI've had the opportunity to help students at every age group and every level of ability. My goal is always to share my love of learning with students, and hopefully to help them develop a love of learning as well. I enjoy tutoring because I can take the time to work individually with a student to help them develop their own critical thinking and learning skills. This helps make students self-sufficient, which is a major step towards long-term success. I use collaborative learning techniques, working alongside the student and just stepping in to clarify and fill the gap. I went to Gordon College, for my degree in international affairs. I also played volleyball at the school, and I had the opportunity to study abroad in Costa Rica. In addition, I've studied entrepreneurship, literature, and creative writing, and I'm always looking to better myself with new skills.

AnisaI'm currently studying Political Science and Government at the Henry Ford Community College. I have a great deal of experience working with young people, both in teaching and individual tutoring. It is always my goal to help students develop open minds, abilities to look at their world through a critical lens, and gain the confidence they need in their own ability to contribute positively towards society. At the same time, I have developed numerous strategies for planning, preparing, and delivering educational experiences that keep my students interested in the subject and results in their improvement and success. I gain fulfillment from being a part of each of my students' growth. I have worked in numerous different types of teaching environments, so I am flexible and able to work with students of all types, even those who exhibit challenging behavior and barriers to learning. I have an innate sense of creativity, so the teaching materials I have collected and continue to add to help make learning interesting for students. I enjoy motivating and inspiring my students to move ahead confidently in their education. Outside the classroom, I have interests in foreign languages, music, sports, and art.
