ThomasWhen I first headed to college, I intended to major in mechanical engineering. As I took my first couple semesters, I diverged a bit from this, and instead earned first my bachelor's degree, and then my master's degree, in mathematics from the Sacramento campus of the California State University. I found such beauty in calculus, which explained the structures we use to truly describe how change works throughout the physical world. I've had experienced teaching in group settings as well as providing one-on-one tutoring in a variety of math subjects to students from middle school through college. Usually, my students end up interested in math once they realize that they can be successful at it.

FarahI believe that having experience in the real world lends a pragmatic element to instruction that is sorely lacking in many classrooms. I earned a master's in Accounting in 2012 and took a job auditing in the International Registration Plan department of the Sacramento DMV. Later, I was a Staff Accountant in a CPA office. Both positions gave me a sense of what business majors can expect once they leave school, enabling me to prepare students more effectively than a textbook can. Of course, that doesn't mean I'm lacking traditional education experience. I am currently an assistant accounting professor teaching courses such as Intermediate Accounting I and II, Managerial Accounting, Financial Accounting, and Principles of Auditing and Other Assurance Services. Thus, I have both the educational and practical experience to help students work toward their academic goals!
