KennethI'm a tutor who is based in Buffalo, New York, where I enjoy mountain climbing, coding, and playing tennis when I'm not working with students. I have my bachelor's degree in math and economics from the University of Buffalo as well as my master's degree in economics with an advanced certificate in finance. I currently work as a credit analysis at M&T Bank. Eventually, I would like to start my own business. I'm a deeply focused individual who loves the process of improving myself in a variety of areas. I hope to bring that same passion for improvement and learning to the students that I work with. I believe that everyone can improve at a given subject if they stay focused, adapt, and keep trying. Having the right guidance in the form of a tutor can help students accelerate this learning process even more. I love the feeling I get when I help a student finally have that "a-ha" moment that allows them to progress further than they've ever been in a given subject. I'm excited to help students reach their academic goals in whatever way I can. Please, don't hesitate to contact me if you think I can help!

AnnaI am certified as both a teacher and a literacy specialist. I have experience working as a teacher, and currently coordinate after school programs for students. I have obtained a good deal of experience in my work with students from elementary through high school ages. My greatest experience is with high school age students, but I am confident and successful tutoring students of all ages. I have worked with struggling high school students on writing and reading, keeping them from falling through the cracks and instilling an appreciation for the subjects that are so important to all classes. At the same time, I provided individual assistance to students in social studies and English courses. I feel strongly that I am meant to guide students through their learning paths and lead them towards success. It is my belief that each student has the potential to do well in school, and that they succeed best when they follow their interests and strengths. I am a devoted reader, and am driven to share this with my students, encouraging them to discover the joys of reading for themselves. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my friends and family, and reading.

AlyssaI bring extensive knowledge and experience to the table for my students. First, I earned my Master's in Reading, which I earned from Teachers College at Columbia University. During that time, I got to work in a reading clinic with students from fourth grade through adults. I helped them improve their reading, writing, and comprehension skills. I have also taught remedial reading classes to help pupils improve their reading and comprehension skills. Additionally, I was one of the founding faculty of a charter school in Brooklyn. I was able to help develop the curriculum, which was an enriching and rewarding experience. I gained valuable skills in analyzing and administering reading assessments to help me figure out the strengths and needs of children. So now, when I get to know a person, I create a lesson plan that helps them the most, keeping their strengths and weaknesses in mind. I have also learned that students are more interested in the material when they are offered many methods of learning it. I use multiple methods of teaching, including mnemonic devices, webquests, and more. I would love to meet your child and help them start meeting and exceeding their learning goals.
