SharifI have five years of tutoring experience. I like to help students improve their understanding and make progress, so I stay patient with them and try to make understanding math and science fun. It gives me a sense of accomplishment when I see concepts click within the student's mind. My tutoring experience covers a wide array of subjects, from reading to English, elementary school math to calculus, and many science topics.

Mon-SanMy professional education experience includes teaching middle schoolers family and consumer sciences, student teaching, and working as a teacher's assistant for fifth-graders. Altogether I have six years of teaching experience in public education. I earned my master's at Marist College in elementary education and I am a certified elementary teacher, ESL teacher, middle school math teacher, and family and consumer sciences teacher. As a tutor, I look forward to the one-on-one attention I'll be able to give students to help them succeed on an individual basis. I believe the true value of an education is developing the skills of creative problem-solving and critical thinking, and I look forward to the opportunity to do this more as a tutor.

LauraI went to Spelman College for my bachelor's degree in math. My goal is to continue my education and become a professional engineer. I'm an experienced tutor, and I put forth a lot of effort to help students experience success. I enjoy helping students work through learning obstacles to understand difficult concepts. I'll do whatever it takes to help students be successful. In addition to helping students learn, tutoring also gives me the opportunity to solidify my knowledge in the subjects I teach. I am comfortable tutoring students in algebra, calculus, trigonometry, pre-calculus, elementary and middle school level math, and other math related topics. I'm also good at writing and verbal communication, and I'm happy to help students in those areas as well. In my free time, I like to listen to music, play sports, practice whistling, spend time with friends, and eat good food. I also play the violin, and I'm working on the harmonica and piano.
