KristinI went to the University of Michigan to earn my bachelor's degree in English. I then gained experience in education is an English teacher at the high school level, and as a college counselor. I'm now attending the University of Minnesota for a master's degree in their writing program. As a tutor, I enjoy helping students refine their writing skills and develop their voice, but I also like to help with reading comprehension, literacy, and other topics related to the English language. I believe every student can make great progress in their learning with a strong mentor providing guidance. To provide successful tutoring, I get to know the student first so I can understand their interests and needs. I then began the process of helping student develop their own learning skills. My goal is for students to come to a full understanding of the subject while I provide patience and fun along the way.

AngieI earned my B.S. in Microbiology with an English minor from the University of Minnesota. Afterwards, I got my master's in Medical Physiology from Loyola University Chicago. As a child, I was constantly doing crossword puzzles, video games, mystery books, and riddles. After an incalculable amount of puzzle-solving, I discovered that teaching can be approached the same way as a puzzle: evaluate, strategize, solve, and verify. I have been involved with peer tutoring in math, science, and teaching immigrant students to speak English. It is my firm belief that the art of teaching needs to remain flexible and that each student needs their tutor to tailor their approach to suit their individual needs. It is important to try different methods to find a solution to a problem. I provide tutoring services for a variety of subjects including biology, math, chemistry, English, and SAT prep. Although I love tutoring all subjects, my passion is teaching literature and AP and IB sciences. In my free time, I play tennis, swim, play music, and enjoy meeting new people.

AndreaI have seven years of experience teaching English and science. I've had the opportunity to work in four different countries, and I'm strong in French and Spanish. I also have insight into test taking strategies and other preparation techniques that have helped me improve my scores, and I would enjoy sharing those with students to help them improve as well. I went to Oberlin College to earn my bachelor's degree in geology, and then I went on to the University of Arizona to earn my master's degree in geography. In addition, I studied geo-information as a Rotary Scholar at University of San Simón. When I work with students, I'm friendly and patient, and I enjoy helping students learn. When I have free time, I like to ride my bike, go for hikes, and listen to music. I also enjoy soccer and travel.
