SarahI graduated from the University of Nevada - Las Vegas with a master's degree in special education. Since then, I've been working for the Clark County School District as a special education teacher, as well as a substitute teacher for about 15 years now. During my time as a student and a teacher, I also worked as a tutor where I helped students of all backgrounds and grade levels overcome various educational challenges. From my experience as a special education teacher and a tutor, I found that the best way to help students succeed is to incorporate a lot of resources and activities designed to enhance the learning experience. While my focus is in special education, I am qualified to tutor a wide range of subjects. However, math is my favorite to teach because it's something that plays an important role in all of our lives. I personally believe that the best way to help students succeed inside the classroom and out in the real world is by coming up with a diverse teaching strategy that incorporates a wide range of techniques that gives them the ability to learn through hands-on activities and visual aids. When I'm not working as a teacher, I enjoy walking, baking, and practicing yoga.

SamuelI'm studying biology at UNLV, but I'm changing my major to computer science. I enjoy STEM topics, particularly chemistry and biology. I also am a fluent Spanish speaker, and I've passed the AP Spanish and culture test and been awarded twice by the national Spanish exam. I was recognized in high school with an advanced honors diploma. This was in the biotechnology program at Northwest Career and Technical Academy. As for tutoring experience, I've helped classmates, family, and friends in a number of topics and helped them improve. In my free time, I enjoy digital media and video games.

BrittanyI earned my undergraduate degree from San Diego State University in youth theatre and my graduate degree from California State University in interdisciplinary studies. I have a very strong background in both communication and the arts and I believe it has given me the foundation necessary to work with students from a unique perspective. I endeavor to make learning engaging and fun and to help each of my students improve their own communication skills so they are better able to pursue their passions in live. My favorite subject to tutor has to be writing. It is a privilege to help each of my students how to authentically and compellingly share their voice with the world. When one embraces the power of writing, it becomes possible to let your personal style shine through when discussing any topic. This propels their academic career forward but it also becomes a meaningful tool for their own self expression. Some of the courses I tutor include reading, writing, essay editing, public speaking, elementary math, algebra, creative writing, pre-algebra, persuasive writing, expository writing, fiction writing, technical writing, theatre, and middle school math. I enjoy working with students of all ability levels in grades K-12. I truly believe that academic achievement is possible for each student, no matter where their starting point lies.
