OnderI earned my bachelor's degree in mathematics, and then went on to Purdue University to earn my master's degree in math. Following that, I went to Grand Canyon University to earn a master's degree in education. My teaching experience includes college-level math at Purdue, middle school level math, and my current role as a calculus teacher, which I've been doing for the past five years. As a tutor, I can help students with middle school math topics through calculus, and I can also help students prepare for the math sections of the ACT, PSAT, AP exams, GRE, and others. I really like tutoring ACT math because there a lot of tips to isolate correct answers on that exam, and it is fun to show people how efficiently they can work through the section. Instead of giving away answers to my students, I have my students work through problems step-by-step showing me what they know. This gives me immediate feedback, provides me opportunities to directly address learning gaps, and give students practice. With math, students need to do things themselves to learn them effectively. When I have free time, I like to hang out with my family, play soccer, watch soccer and other sports, and volunteer.

EmoryI earned my undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech in industrial engineering and operations research. I have subsequently been accepted into the doctorate program of the same field at the University of California, Berkeley. I began my tutoring as a high school student but it wasn't until college that I discovered my passion for teaching. For the past two years I have tutored individual students and I have also led group study sessions. I currently tutor students in algebra 1 & 2, calculus 1 - 3, elementary math, middle school math, pre-calculus, arithmetic, algebra 3/4, pre-algebra, and AP courses in similar subjects. The feedback I have received from my students has been very valuable for my growth as a teacher. I know how important it is to treat each student as an individual and not to focus only on their academic strengths or weaknesses. I take the time to get to know my students so that I may better prepare lesson plans that will engage them and make the material more easily accessible to them, no matter where their starting point may be. I look forward to helping each of my students achieve their academic potential and I hope to inspire in them a love of math that will last a lifetime.

BraxtonI have professional tutoring experience in math, particularly finite math, calculus, and linear algebra when I was an undergraduate at Indiana University - Bloomington. The truth is, though, I've been tutoring for a long time, because I've helped my younger sisters in school for most of my life. I have a BA in political science from IU - Bloomington, along with the mathematics minor. I now have a career working for Amazon, but I enjoy and miss tutoring. I love the process of helping students break down math, understand it, and find it attainable. I believe that any student can be successful and develop lifelong skills through tutoring, and it just takes some adaptability on the part of the tutor to teach the way a student learns best. I look forward to helping you improve your math skills.
