MiquonI'm a tutor based out of Syracuse, New York, where I enjoy theater, literature, and music when I'm not working with students. I focus primarily on subjects around the broader fields of knowledge of literature, philosophy, and art. I've taken several advanced courses in each of these subject areas, and would love to help my students master these subjects themselves. I've taken a class focusing on theories behind tutoring in undergrad, which trained me to work in our walk-in tutoring center. We practiced all aspects of tutoring in this course, and even worked with students from Japan to practice our English as a second language skills. I've also served as a teaching assistant for an acting course at the university level. I'm so active in tutoring because I'm extremely passionate about helping other students achieve their educational goals. I also feel as though I get as much out of each tutoring session as the student does. I love helping a student reach their breakthrough moment with a particularly difficult topic or lesson. There's nothing like the feeling I get when I help someone reach their goals. I hope that I can use the skills I've developed as a tutor to help you get the most out of your educational experience. Please, reach out to me if you think I can help!

MichelleI have a BS in health and physical education from Ithaca College and a master's degree in teaching students with disabilities from SUNY - Cortland. I'm teaching in a resource room to kindergartners through eighth grade students as well as tutoring, and I really enjoy it. I have prior tutoring experience helping students with health and physical education, but I'm looking to expand into more subjects and test preparation. Health was my favorite subject in college and in high school, and I have classroom experience teaching as well. I'm on the Tempe women's rugby team, a sport I've been playing since 2008. I love to work out, hike, and stay fit and active. I look forward to working with you!

GabriellaThere are many qualities that I believe make an effective tutor. I have learned to be a great listener and even better communicator during my studies. I am able to effectively write and verbalize the information that my students need. Organization skills are something I possess and I am very committed and dedicated to maintaining a professional demeanor. I have enthusiasm and love learning new things. Additionally, I am always eager to solve a problem. I am also great at multitasking and am very patient with my pupils. The best part of tutoring to me is knowing that I am making some sort of difference in the person's education. In addition to my personal qualities, I also have educational background and experience which has shaped me into the tutor I am today. I am a Psychology major and a Special Education major both. I have hands-on experience working with children with Autism. I am able to help in a number of different subjects, including math, English, science, and more. When I am not tutoring or studying, you can find me running, swimming, and spending time with my family. I am looking forward to helping your child achieve and exceed their academic goals.
