SusanI believe every student learns differently, but every student can learn successfully. I'm devoted to establishing teaching methodologies with my students that are effective for their learning styles. I also believe in setting goals and forming connections with my students so they feel comfortable in the learning environment. I'm patient and go at the student's pace to ensure they have a solid understanding before we move on. My goal is to create confident, self-sufficient learners. I went to Wayne State University for my bachelor's degree in business administration, and I went on to the University of Detroit Mercy for my master's degree in special education and learning disabilities. I love to teach and have a positive effect on the long-term success of my students. I have 12 years of experience as a tutor, and I specialize in writing and reading. When I have free time, I enjoy concerts, movies, reading, and spending time with family.

LeahI went to Howard University for my bachelor's degree in accounting. I'm now attending the University of Michigan - Dearborn for my master's degree in accounting while studying for my CPA exam. As a college student, I've had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the country and abroad, including China. As a tutor, I've helped people with economics, accounting, public speaking, production operations, and others. Also I am comfortable working with students in small groups or individually. I love to share what I know with others because I believe education is a really important factor in long-term success. I utilize a collaborative approach and continuous communication to help students understand material and work through problems. This help students develop their learning skills while I get immediate feedback on progress, telling me where to focus. During my free time, I like to exercise, surf the Internet, watch TV, and shop.

EvanI attended Wayne State University where I earned a Bachelor of Art in German and International Studies. I have studied abroad in Germany, and I was able to increase my vocabulary and become more comfortable conversing in German. I have tutored English-speaking children in Math and Science, and I taught English to a German child. I have discovered many different strategies to help students best during tutoring sessions, and while classroom instruction is an important element of education, tutoring can help students keep up with their classes or even work ahead of their classes. When I tutor, I often have my students participate by teaching me what they have learned. Students who are involved in their lessons and having fun tend to be the ones who learn the most! Whether you'd like to learn German for school, for your profession, or for travel, I would love to work with you or your child on German, AP German Language and Culture, German 1, German 2, German 3, German 4, or Conversational German. I am also qualified to tutor Reading, Writing, Literature, Public Speaking, and English. I spend my free time snowboarding, playing Ultimate Frisbee, reading, and collecting comics and graphic novels. I love music, and I always make time to play clarinet and bass guitar.
