TeresaHi, my name is Terri. I'm a certified tutor who has a bachelor's degree in education from Sonoma State University. I'm a retired elementary school teacher but I still work as a private tutor because I enjoy it. I can help my students with subjects like adult literacy, English, phonics, and more. Consider reaching out to me if you feel that you would benefit from working with a tutor. I can create a customized lesson plan for you that's based on your unique needs and learning style. This type of personalization in your learning process could be just what you need to reach your full academic potential. I hope to hear from you soon.

SamMy name is Sam and I'm a tutor who is based out of Arcata, California. I have a bachelor's degree in art and design and my teaching credential from Sonoma State University. I've worked as a tutor for over six years and have also spent time working as a substitute teacher in local schools. In my free time, I enjoy playing the guitar, drawing, and painting. I love tutoring because I enjoy getting to work with students in one-on-one settings that allow me to target my approach to fit their needs. There's nothing quite like the feeling I get when one of my students finally achieves a breakthrough in a subject they've been struggling with.

MichelleEducation and teaching others is something that I have always been deeply passionate about. I earned a secondary teaching credential in English and French before going to Alaska to teach for a year. After a year in Alaska, I returned to California because I felt isolated. I was a substitute teacher in numerous school districts and subjects. I earned my bachelor's degree in French from Gonzaga University and along the way went to work for the IRS. After several years of working for the IRS, I missed teaching and went back to it. Now I am excited to be helping students with many subjects such as English, ESL, French, math, and writing.
