SoniaI earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon in Spanish language and literature and my graduate degree from Universidad de Valencia in language teaching specializing in Spanish language and literature. I subsequently spend more than a decade in Spain I taught English to students of all ages in various settings such as the classroom, individual tutoring sessions, and after school programs. Studying the language of Spanish in Spain was invaluable for my ability to read and speak the language and I believe it makes me a better teacher and tutor for my students. Some of the courses I tutor include Spanish 1-4, AP Spanish literature and culture, languages, reading, writing, AP Spanish language & culture, creative writing, English, conversational Spanish. My teaching philosophy is to give the students what they need to succeed. This varies greatly from student to student which is why it is vitally important for me get to know the students and discover their learning style and what they're interested in so that I know what to bring into their learning experiences that will fully engage them with the content. Language acquisition is so much easier when you have someone to work with, and I am looking forward to working with you!

MichaelI attended BYU for my bachelor's degree in business management, and now I am studying bioengineering at the University of Utah. I love math, and I'm adept at explaining complex concepts to students in ways that are easier to understand. When I work with students, I make sure that they develop the ability to solve problems independently without too much rote memorization. I enjoy tutoring algebra, calculus, geometry, elementary and middle school math, pre-calculus, trigonometry, English, economics, ESL, and test preparation for the ACT and other standardized exams. When I have free time, I enjoy visiting the mountains. I like to hike, fish, and backpack, and I enjoy reading science fiction and fantasy.

JaredI'm a student at Brigham Young University where I'm completing a Bachelor of Science in Finance, and may go on to an MBA, at some point. I have always been willing to help other students with their classes, and I now volunteer at Y Serve, a campus tutoring program. My goal is always to get the students excited about learning and open to being successful, and out of the mindset that a class is too hard, or that they just aren't good at a certain subject. Sometimes, having information they couldn't absorb in class is much more easily understood when working one-on-one with a tutor who can present the same information in several different ways. I look forward to helping you or your young student with coursework assistance or test prep for Algebra 1, College Accounting, Precalculus, College Algebra, Algebra 2, ACT, SAT, Microeconomics, Economics, Finance, Accounting, AP United States History, Finite Mathematics, Geography, Pre-Algebra, Macroeconomics, AP Economics, Math, Business, Social Studies, ACT English, ACT Math, ACT Reading, ACT Science, SAT Math, Test Prep, SAT Mathematics, SAT Reading, High School Accounting, AP US History, High School Business, College Business, High School Economics, or College Economics. I spend my spare time listening to music and playing piano, playing basketball, or reading.
